CEO/Founder
Growing up in the small town Auburn, New York, sports were my escape. The Booker T. Washington Community Center became my second home, and basketball was my passion. But having big dreams came with big challenges—especially when something as simple as a pair of sneakers was a financial hardship. Wearing a women’s size 12 made it even harder for my mom to provide, but my late sister always made sure I never went without.
While other kids spent summers at basketball camps, I spent mine working to afford school clothes, meal money for away games, and, of course, sneakers. My mother was a pillar of generosity and compassion, always reminding us, “Be grateful. There’s someone out there who doesn’t have food, clothes, or even a bed.” Her words shaped me, and her spirit of giving became my own.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of starting a nonprofit to support underserved youth, ensuring they don’t face the same barriers I did. If life had unfolded differently, I believe I would have been a professional basketball player—but I also believe God had a greater plan. That plan led to the creation of EMPOWER YOUTH FUND. I’m driven by a passion to level the playing field, giving every young athlete the chance to unlock their potential and fuel their dreams.
